Slaughterhouse Services

The Veterinary Services Section provides the following:

  • Camel and livestock slaughtering services for customers, including veterinary health inspection of animals before and after slaughter, as well as all related procedures.
  • Laboratory analysis and testing of samples to ensure the safety and suitability of meat for human consumption in municipal slaughterhouses.
  • Services and facilities dedicated to People of Determination and senior citizens.

The Veterinary Services Section also issues several health certificates at slaughterhouses, including:

  • Certificate of total or partial condemnation for carcasses unfit for human consumption.
  • Health certificate for meat and slaughter by-products deemed fit for human consumption.
  • Certificate of refusal for the entry of live animals into livestock markets and slaughterhouse pens.
  • Health certificate for slaughter by-products (skins, intestines, and fats).
  • Death certificate for animals that die within slaughterhouse cages.
  • Certificate of condemnation for live livestock infected with contagious or epidemic diseases.
  • Certificate of release for animals leaving livestock markets or slaughterhouse pens.

Cemetery Services

The Cemeteries Services Section provides a range of services for the management of both Muslim and non-Muslim cemeteries:

  • Washing, shrouding, and burial services for Muslims in accordance with Islamic Sharia.
  • Burial and cremation permit services for non-Muslims in line with their respective religions and beliefs. Burial or cremation permits can be obtained through the TAMM digital platform (https://smarthub.adm.gov.ae).
  • Burial services for infectious bodies in compliance with approved health regulations and standards.
  • Monitoring cemetery operators to ensure compliance with maintenance and hygiene requirements.
  • Attendance at funeral cases to ensure that all burial tools and supplies are available.

Animal Welfare Services

Veterinary Inspection Services

  • Issuance of veterinary health certificates for the release of animals from Al Ain Central Livestock Market.
  • Issuance of death certificates for livestock within the pens of Al Ain Central Livestock Market.
  • Issuance of certificates of refusal for the entry of live livestock into Al Ain Central Livestock Market.

Stray Cats and Dogs Management

  • Request for surrender of domestic animals in residential plots (in cases where owners no longer wish to keep them), via the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Center.
  • Capture and removal of dangerous animals from residential neighborhoods, via the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Center.
  • Capture, control, and management of stray cats and dogs.

Digital Services for Public Drinking Water Systems

The Public Health Services Section, through the TAMM platform, provides a range of digital services to ensure the safe and proper operation of public drinking water systems in public facilities. These include:

  • Permit for installing and operating a public water cooler (Sabeel).
  • Permit for entities specialized in the installation and maintenance of water coolers (Sabeel).
  • Registration of establishments specialized in the operation of public swimming pools.
  • License to operate a public swimming pool, granted after fulfilling all required conditions.
  • Registration of establishments specialized in cleaning and disinfecting public drinking water tanks, after fulfilling all required conditions.

Proactive Inspection Service for Non-Food Establishments

This service ensures initial compliance of commercial activities with all requirements before starting licensing procedures and paying fees to the relevant authorities (such as annual rent). The process includes:

  • Submitting a service request via the Government Contact Center (800555).
  • Scheduling a site visit with the customer.
  • Inspecting the site and informing the customer of the possibility of carrying out the intended activity at the specified location.
